This Week on Patriots Daily
Two divisional showdowns in five days kept things hopping at PD this week…
On Monday, Chris Warner said a fast start and a slow finish helped the Pats break a first place tie with the Buffalo Bills the day before;
On Tuesday, with the Pats on the upswing, Scott Benson was in his happy place;
On Wednesday, Tyler Carter said the Pats defense folded the Bills with quarterback pressures and confounding coverages; later that day, the big AFCE win - and the approaching battle with the New York Jets - had Benson distracted by shiny things;
Thursday morning, Britt Schramm came back on six days rest to pitch a game plan for the approaching aircraft; Chef slaved over a hot tailgate all day, so eat! Eat! You’re skin and bones!
Friday, despite a remarkable Patriots comeback to force overtime with one second remaining, the mood turned dark at PD. Really dark.
Handed a flaming trainwreck on Saturday morning, Greg Doyle wisely changed the subject to the future, in the form of potential draft prospects.
Stay tuned - there’s no way to predict what will happen next on PD.

A disappointing Sunday night road loss to a longtime conference rival left the PD staff wondering what might have been this week…
On Monday, Chris Warner bemoaned key gaffes from a mediocre Patriots performance in Indy.
In the early hours of Election Tuesday, Scott Benson ran a negative ad on Bill Belichick’s in-game decision-making against the Colts.
On Thursday morning, Tyler Carter said Red Zone impotence was the cause of death for the Patriots. Dan Snapp said that Stephen Gostkowski has vindicated the Patriots for Adam-and-Left.
As is his custom, Britt Schramm turned our Friday morning attention to Sunday’s battle for first place in the AFC East. Meanwhile in the PD Kitchen, Chef was working up some Canadian bacon in honor of our visitors from the North, the Toronto Roughriders.
With the loss to the Colts now fully out of the PD system, Greg Doyle put the Saturday morning stopwatch on college prospects from undefeated Penn State and upset darlings Texas Tech.
They thank you, as always, for your patronage.

The Patriots bus started leaking oil like a sieve last Sunday night, so this week the PD mechanics popped the hood on the old girl for a look see.
On Monday, Chris Warner was first to report on the carnage in San Diego at the hands of the merciless Chargers.
Scott Benson was coming to a boil by Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Tyler Carter coolly broke down a crucial 3rd quarter, first-and-goal miss by the Pats.
Dan Snapp spent Thursday sinking in quicksand, pondering Matt Cassel’s abject mediocrity.
On Friday, Britt Schramm said NoMo LoMo, before encouraging the Patriots to follow Kansas City’s lead against the Broncos, their opponent on Monday night.
This morning, Greg Doyle wondered if anyone would be watching the BC game tonight.

Thanks to all of you who stopped by this week, and especially those who dropped a few pearls in our comments section.
Last bit - we mentioned last week our pal Reader Barry has been hard at work out west, gathering Pats partisans to attend the Pats games against the Niners and Chargers. Barry reports last week was a rousing success (about 130 turned up for the game and a variety of pre-game events in the City by the Bay), so here’s his report on this weekend’s festivities in San Diego:
On Saturday night we’ll be having a party at Seau’s Restaurant starting at 4:45pm (RSVP required). The time of this party was moved up so that our Red Sox fans can watch the game (5pm PST) 1640 Camino Del Rio North #1376, San Diego, CA 92108
On Sunday we’ll be meeting up offsite at the Hazard Center (7676 Hazard Center Dr) at noon and then drive out together at 12:30pm and enter Gate 3, then make an immediate U-turn to get to our tailgating section between G4 and H4. Many fans will also be taking the trolley in and will simply walk to our tailgate area to join us.
Join the Patriots Tailgate Yahoo Group to RSVP and get further details about this or any other road game.
Enjoy tomorrow night’s game, everybody.
