From The506.com – Where Patriots/Bengals Will Be Shown

By Bruce Allen, Patriots Daily Staff

The awesome website The506.com is back for another season of creating weekly maps showing which games will be shown where in the country. With their permission, we’ll be showing you the map each week that shows where in the country you will be able to watch the Patriots game that weekend.

This week, the Patriots have CBS’s top crew of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms, and so a large portion of the country will get to watch the first game of the Brandon Spikes era.

Man, Denver doesn’t get a whole lot of competition.

If you click on the map and go to the page at The506.com, you can zoom in on specific areas and regions to get more detail.

  1. The rule prohibiting other NFL games from being shown on local television stations while a local team is playing a sold-out home game is a ridiculous rule. Considering that the home team has already sold-out the tickets, why not show another game opposite the local team’s game on the other network. It’s not like the fans will get confused as to which network is showing the local team’s game. By showing the extra game, the NFL makes more TV revenue, not to mention the goodwill NFL will earn from transplanted fans like myself. It really sucks to live in an area with a bad team and not getting to watch any other game when the local team is playing at home.

I suspect this will get addressed in the new CBA, since the NFL is basically shooting themselves in the foot with this rule.
