I’m sure Ford would add a lot to the Patriots special teams AND offense Chris. Bell is a project, you’re right. I’m thinking BJGE may be ready to contribute a bit more next year too. Perhaps its time to retool and move on from at least Maroney and Taylor. That would open up two spots.

I’d rather have a second-rounder be a potential starter at a position (DE, LB, RB) than a part-time player who won’t fit in on special teams. The Pats didn’t draft Pat White; they didn’t develop Edelman or Stanback into Wildcat QBs. Don’t see them taking Tebow to do the same.

Heaven knows I’ve been wrong.

Everybody seems to be focused on Tim Tebow solely as a QB. First, he is a football player who has the potential to play more than one position and is a proven leader of extraordinary talent.
If he lasts into the 2nd round, draft him and let him play FB and Wildcat for a couple of years.

The big question, for me, is what kind of talent is going to be around in the 2nd round? I think the Patriots have been leading up to this draft for quite a while now, with their trading down. We pick 12, 15 and 21 in the second round. Is this the opportunity to get good talent, rather than “value”?

Jacoby Ford, yes. I’ve been keeping an eye on him and would love to see what he could do in the Pats’ offense (and if he could average more than 19 yards per kick return). Disappointed to hear about Darryl Sharpton – thought he looked good toward the end of the season with Miami.

I like Joique Bell, but wonder if he’s another BJGE?
