I understand when you are at the 35 - 40 yard line, where it's too far for a FG, too close for a punt, but when you have a chance to make it a 2 score game, it's unacceptable. You "go for it" when you know you won't have another chance to get that close to the end zone, and that wasn't the case Sunday. It's the "situational" football the Patriots preach - two FG's when in the red zone kills that game, it may not be pretty, or statistically beautiful, but it wins games. I appreciate Belichick's mantra of "I expect our offense to be able to get a yard", but they haven't too many times this season. I just don't think, at this point and time, there should be that expectation. Yeah, seriously, enough with the 4th downs already.
