Thanks for writing Jackson. Don't you almost prefer it this way though? Some of my most enjoyable Pats moments since 2001 have come when the large majority of football talking head types (and even some employed within the NFL) have counted out the Patriots. And they do seem as if there is such turnover and change within the team, they are being counted out again. We'll see. But there is nothing more enjoyable in following the NFL than to know Merrill Hoge's (and his ilk's) cornflakes taste a bit acidic the morning after the Pats knock off another supposedly superior opponent and their impending demise has been a bit overstated.

Thanks Tim. Yes, he has added the one receiving TD too. But his receiving really isn't that great, look at the less than 7 ypc career average. Its his tough running that could be a problem for the Pats if he gets in a groove.

Thanks Sandy. And fair point on Flacco. You might be right, he might be starting to get more credit now. 2 of his 3 games have been against some of the worst teams in the league. This week's matchup would bring him a lot more recognition if he can play well against a pretty tough opponent on the road. Then again, if he doesn't, then perhaps I am overrating him a tad too soon.

Greg, thanks for the analysis. It's as if you've been reading my mind. During the entire week leading up to the Falcons game, the media on TV, internet and radio were lauding Atlanta as a powerhouse which would give the Patriots fits on both sides of the ball. Now, they're a poorly-coached, mediocre at best, soft team that rolled over. Admittedly, the Ravens are better than Atlanta, particularly on the defensive side. But, all I'm hearing and reading is the same type of doom and gloom that was so pervasive last week. If the Patriots win Sunday, Baltimore will be described as another less-than-worthy opponent who was over-hyped (by whom, I wonder?). Then, we'll be reminded that the Patriots will have to travel to Denver to take on the 3-1 or 4-0 Broncos in a stadium where they haven't fared well over the years. If they win in Denver, the Broncos will then be scorned and we'll be reminded that Tennesse, the author of the best record in the AFC, is coming to town and will undoubtedly beat the Patriots. I could go on and on...

Please. Stop with the Joe Flacco is underrated stuff. Every analyst/pundit I have read/heard/seen this week starts off describing Joe Flacco as underrated and then proceeds to "inform" their readers/listeners/viewers that he is a top 10 QB. If everybody thinks he is a top 10 QB, how is he underrated? At this point he is over-underrated. That rant aside, I really like the features you guys are writing this season.
