Roster Reactions, Part 4 – PS, You’re Full

With the recent signing of tight end Robbie Agnone to the practice squad, the Patriots have the maximum eight players in that group.

The 6-foot-6, 258-pound Agnone played at Delaware, though he initially attended Pittsburgh as a backup quarterback. (He went into detail on his recruiting process during an interview with NFL Draft Blitz one year ago.) Last season Agnone caught 16 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns for the Blue Hens. The Redskins signed him as a free agent this spring but cut him this past week.

The practice squad now consists of the following players:

DT Titus Adams, Nebraska

TE Robbie Agnone, Delaware

OT Patrick Brown, Central Florida

DT Adrian Grady, Louisville

WR Terrence Nunn, Nebraska

DL Darryl Richard, Georgia Tech

QB Isaiah Stanback, Washington

DB DeAngelo Willingham, Tennessee

  1. Obviously Agnone may never a snap in anger, but with the recent shift in focus in the TE position, it would seem ‘pound the ball’ is going to be an important part of the Pat’s offense focus, moving forward. That makes me wonder about the departure of McDaniels since Belichick didn’t seem to particularly mind him leaving the team at such a young age (as opposed to Mangini).

As much as the Pats are fun to follow on the field, wondering what Belichick is thinking is almost equally as compelling.
