Hey Lebron, good to hear from you as always.

I know what you're saying about the sacks v. Denver (I mean, five in one half - brutal) but I'm wondering if we're seeing the line start to get its bearings a little since Stephen Neal returned (which also helps the in-game depth by returning Yates to the reserves). Plus it seems Light and Mankins are coming around a bit after a rough start. Take a look on Sunday night and see what you think.

Good defense talk the last couple of columns with the Hobbs/Wilfork stuff here and the linebacker stuff in Bruce's column.

Didn't see any of the Rams game, as it wasn't my local broadcast, and have only caught 3 games this year - the 2 national telecasts and the opener. My concern with this team since February has been the O-line, very interested to see them on Sunday night, as they were pretty awful in the 1st two games I caught. They ran well in the Denver game, but the sacks piled up.

Yes, Hobbs was injured; he had off season surgery after the super bowl for a sports hernia. Imagine trying to play cornerback in the NFL -- given all the cutting and changing of direction -- with a hernia and general groin discomfort. Did you ever hear a word out of him about it? Negative. The guy just goes out and competes to the best of his ability. I admire that; I'll leave all the snarky comments to others.

Compare Hobbs' taciturn nature (at least about his injuries!) to Maroney's hints and giggles about his condition. I'm not saying that Maroney is a pu55y; I just wish he'd shut the fvck up about it and give up the dancing lessons.

The man strips a mean fumble, I'll give you that.

Honestly, though, we just recently completed our We Heart Troy Brown week on PD, and I don't think I could go through another emotional experience like that.

Wasn't Hobbs playing injured in the Super Bowl?

With all these injuries in the secondary, I think it's time again to consider bringing back one of the best cornerbacks in Patriots history, a Pro Bowler, a Super Bowl champion - Troy Brown.

Maybe he could have competed against the fade route better but there was an obvious matchup advantage for Plax, and the Pats defensive play call couldn't have set the G-men up any better for the play they called.

Not to focus on that one thing, though. I think the guy is a very capable player and am always surprised how few people seem to feel the same.

Agreed on Hobbs. He's plenty good enough to get it done.

Sure, he got pretzeled by Burress to lose the SB, but if his counterpart on the other side of the field hadn't dropped an easy interception, or his safety could cover Boss at all or Tyree a little better, the Burress TD never would have happened.
