Couldn't have said it better. Glad to see Belichick at each home game. I think it showed more than one Patriot fan that one he was relaxing and two he was supporting the Celtics.

Just perfect. And a good lesson for those of us who will begin following that other team in about 32 days. Let's enjoy this one.

...well done Scott, I can really relate to it....I've lived in New England (Rhode Island) my whole life (46 years). For whatever reason, Basketball has never "done it" for me. I live and die with the Patriots, Bruins and Red Sox (in that order) when it came to the Celtics I really didn't care (even in the "Bird" years)....I was happy to see the Celts do it this year though. In some ways they reminded me of the Patriots, good character guys, excellent teamwork, players sacrificing stats for the good of the team. Veteran players and coach winning a championship for the first time.....congrats to the Celts.

Well done on a gracious and well written post that nicely captures the outsiders joy at the Celtics success. I find it interesting that the happiness felt over the Celts win is distributed to both the team itself as well as the fans who have been through a long term "rebuilding process" (i.e., lousy) couple o'decades. Go New England!
