I am all about the Pats looking at Dexter Jackson from Appalachian St. Super fast, very quick, looks like the next D. Branch.

Remember his touchdown against Michigan? Never seen anyone run as fast on a football field.

FYI, I wouldn’t normally use the word “Welker-type” to describe a 6’5″ WR.

(Patriots.com did have an amusing comment, though, about the slot receiver types: “They’re easy to find in Indianapolis this week: small, speedy wide receivers who all seem to idolize [Wes] Welker.”)

Mike Mayock’s mock draft has the Patriots possibly taking DE Derrick Harvey (who is also mentioned as an outside linebacker) with the #7 pick. Anyone heard anything about him?

Todd Blythe of Iowa State, while probably accurately projected as an eighth-rounder, is a Welker-type guy, lots of speed, who the Patriots fans could really fall in love with.

One player that hasn’t been mentioned in the Boston media too much is RB Justin Beaver from Division III Wisconsin-Whitewater:

“The Palmyra native put together the best all-around performance of all the players and spoke at length with scouts from the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots.

Officials from both teams told Beaver they expected delivery of any pertinent film sometime today, a message Beaver relayed to one of his agents.”

Basically, the kid appears to be somewhere on the Wes Welker-Kevin Faulk spectrum.
