I watched the Pats and Pack replay too just yesterday and I'll be damned if I wasn't sitting there shouting, "Don't kick it to Desmond! Don't kick it to Desmond!"

I howl at that idiot Watson's comments every time. I was at that game, and one of the things I remember most was him jumping around pre-pre-game (when players take the field way before official introductions). He was woofing it up, dancing around etc, really being a mjor showboat. It stood out to me because here was this 3rd stringer, acting like he was Ray Lewis going to get his team all jacked up.

So the teams go back into the locker room, then come back out for the real pre-game. And guess who I spot on the sidelines, now in street clothes? This idiot Watson, obviously de-activated for the game!!! After all that woofing nonsense, what a joke. Then lo and behold when the NFL Films version comes out, guess who found the camera so he could be part of the game after all.

The other idiot on the Rams that day was Grant Winstrom. All the other players are stretching out in the middle of the field (again this is 2 hours before the game). He struts down to the endzone, close as possible to the stands, in a t-shirt 5 sizes too small and poses and preens while pretending to stretch. Joker.

Danno -- I like the two-week hiatus, since I was able to take care of some personal business that's been on the back-burner since the preseason and squeeze in a sweet trip to Puerto Rico (still tasting the churrasco and Medalla Light). But, yeah, right about now I'm ready for my favorite holiday, Super Bowl Sunday.

And the CHB's interview with Parcells reminded me of a couple of things. 1) the guy can actually write when he takes himself and his prejudices out of the story and 2) the perenially weak AFC East could actually be tough in a year or two. Jauron's a good coach who's one or two players away from contending; the Mangina had tough luck (or bad karma) this year, but he surely hasn't forgotten how to coach, and Parcells -- well, to say he's established his bona fides is an understatement. Sparano seems like he's the real deal, too.

As much as I'm looking forward to ring No. 4, I'm really looking forward to the next couple of seasons to see some divisional slugfests -- with the Patriots emerging on top again.

Yeah, after watching the Pats v. Green Bay, I almost called up an old acquaintance for once arguing that Bledsoe was a decent QB (not better than Brady, just serviceable). The whole game I kept thinking, "Brady wins this one."
