In many ways, from a psychological standpoint anyway, I think the run to the Bowl will be easier than the regular season. Now it's just several win-or-go-home games -- a position the Pates have been in plenty of times. The 16-O run was history in the making and, despite their denials, after game 12 or so, the challenge had to be weighing on them considerably.

And let's face it: The Patriots have handled every one of the opponents they're likely to face. Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, Tennessee ... they don't scare me at all. San Diego, if it plays its best game, could take it to us, and Indy, of course, is always a concern. Still, the Pates beat each of them this season.

Once we get to the Bowl, I pray we're facing the Cowgirls. Beating them in the big one will be especially sweet, but part of me is thinking the more likely opponent is the Redskins -- or maybe the New York football Giants.

And the Patriots clearing space on their shelves for ring No. 4.
