Forgive the double post, but I just clicked on the link Drew posted and, indeed, laughed out loud about two grafs down when Shaughnessy referred to Reche Caldwell's "Calvin Schiraldi eyes."

Even when he's jacking up the Pats the CHB doesn't stray too far from- the Buckley/Massarotti-style bring-the-conversation-back-to-the-Sox-at-any-cost school of football "analysis."

Nicely done, CHB. I sure can't imagine what it would be like to see Brady throwing to Moss. Wonder if they'll find any sort of rhythm that will translate to on-field success? Just as long as they don't put their lockers anywhere near each other, the Patriots might by OK this year.

Scottzo -- as a fellow football-loving troglodyte (who also loves baseball, but c'mon: It's PATRIOTS season, now) -- let me turn to the estimable, though short-lived hard rock outfit Faith No More for a little assistance on my reframe of the Shaughnessy masterwork.

The song "Epic's" catchy refrain is "It's it (What is it?)"

"It's it?" That's pretty darn close to "It is what it is," popularized by, yeah, you got it, Bill Belichick.

EFF that CHB!

I'm glad you've picked up on that Scott. This is my biggest pet peeve (out of many) when it comes to Dan "Bad Hair" Shaugnessy. I've lost count how many times he throws the old, "Red Sox are more popular than the Patriots" line (or some variation of it) into one of his columns. Here is one example from a column he wrote on April 30th where he claims Bob Kraft is "obsessed" with knocking the Red Sox off the front page >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Maybe Moss will morph into Troy Brown. But the public perception of the Patriots -- something very dear to Kraft -- is forever changed. His football men successfully bounced the Red Sox-Yankees off the landscape for a couple of days (which Kraft is obsessed with) and made his team better, but back in March he was still bragging about a locker room stuffed with "the kind of people . . . who fit the profile of what we want."

For a good laugh here is the link to the full article>>>>
