[...] Scott created an interesting post today on Inside Gillette. Here’s a short outline:As compared to Notre Dame. I just watched Notre Dame-USC, and [Fighting Irish quarterback] Evan Sharpley had a half-second. “It’s so great to see so many elements of a football team come together like this.” … [...]

I think what some are perceiving as a weakness (namely, stopping the run) is a display of the Patriots letting up a bit when the game is well in hand. The real question is if the D can kick it back into high gear if an opposing offense suddenly explodes in the fourth quarter.

That being said: I respect the 'Skins, but their secondary hasn't faced anyone like the Patriots, yet. We may see Washington's D exposed, though I'm not foolish enough to count out Joe Gibbs. If there's any coach (besides BB) capable of putting together a three-quarter rope-a-dope, and coming up with a crushing fourth-quarter onslaught it's Master Joe. I don't think it will happen, but it's not totally outside the realm of possibility.

Penultimately: We should have seen an all Gutierrez Q4.

Lastly: I hope the book-signing went well, Chris. I couldn't make it, but I hope there's another weekend signing scheduled for the 128 corridor or, even (dare I hope), the mighty Merrimack Valley. Please keep us posted.
